Frequently asked questions

How much does rooftop solar cost in Kerala in 2026?

A 3 kW on-grid system typically costs ₹1.6–1.9 lakh before subsidy. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy the net cost is around ₹85,000–₹1.1 lakh. Larger systems cost less per kW.

Is the PM Surya Ghar subsidy available in Kerala?

Yes. Residential consumers get ₹30,000 per kW up to 2 kW, ₹18,000 for the third kW — a maximum of ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. We register you on the national portal and file the claim.

How long does installation take?

Site survey within 2–3 days of enquiry. Installation is usually 1–2 days. KSEB net-meter connection and subsidy disbursal take 3–8 weeks depending on the section office.

Does solar work in Kerala's monsoon?

Yes. Panels generate on diffused light; output drops on heavy-rain days but annual generation in Kerala averages about 1,400 units per kW. Net-metering banks your surplus from sunny months.

What roof types can you install on?

RCC (concrete) roofs, clay/ceramic tile roofs, GI/aluminium sheet roofs and ground mounts. Structures are hot-dip galvanised and wind-rated for coastal Kerala.

What maintenance is needed?

Panel cleaning every 2–4 weeks and an annual inspection. We offer AMC packages that include cleaning, inverter checks and KSEB liaison.
